Sometimes mothers need additional assistance with breastfeeding after they bring their baby home from the hospital.
- Fee: $25.00 per half hour
- One and a half hour minimum $75.00
Topics covered include: getting started, latching and positioning the baby, overcoming common obstacles such as engorgement, learning your baby’s hunger cues, realistic expectations, and when and where to seek help. We will explore common concerns such as "is the baby getting enough?" We'll discuss the most economical breastfeeding accessories which you may or may not need.
American Association of Pediatricians (AAP) has been a staunch advocate of breastfeeding as the optimal form of nutrition for infants. Breastfeeding is the natural way to feed your baby. Remember, breastfeeding is a learning experience for both you and your baby. Some mothers may face some challenges due to various factors. A Prenatal Breastfeeding Class will provide you with the skills to achieve exclusive breastfeeding success. We'll focus on those first critical weeks of your baby’s life to prepare the mother-to-be for a satisfying breastfeeding experience.
